1996 – £116,193 awarded for new playground
Funding from the National Lotteries Charity Board enabled us to employ a Playground Development Worker
to help local children and young people design and build a new adventure playground. This was part of the
wider regeneration of White City, which took place alongside this exciting 3 year project. The playground was designed by
children from the local primary school and then built by community members of all ages. The new playground included a purpose
built indoor play space with toilets and a kitchen, a giant sandpit, a climbing wall, swings, slides and more. Over 200 people of all
ages and abilities volunteered their time for this project.
