Phase Two - A New Community Building
Over the last 10 years the Venture has broadened its work and has played an increasingly wider, whole community development role. The playground has acted as a ‘gateway’ – it is how people have formed relationships and engaged with us and how we have been able to identify the evolving needs in our community. This means we are now working with people of all ages, both in our local community and the wider ward, helping to address issues around family crisis, mental health and wellbeing, education and focused youth support.
In response to the need to support our community in a much more holistic way we have ambitious, community driven plans to redevelop our well loved indoor space into a new sustainable, multi purpose centre that will give us more space to provide an improved range of services and facilities for people of all ages.
PHASE TWO - NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE
Phase two of our project sees the development of a new Community Centre that will cater to the diverse needs of our community. This redevelopment reflects our commitment to supporting people of all ages and creating a facility that can adapt to the changing needs of generations to come.
A Flexible and Accessible Space for All
Our new building is designed with flexibility and accessibility at its heart. The thoughtfully planned space will provide a wide range of services and facilities, ensuring it meets the needs of our entire community. Its discrete, modern design will harmonise with the surrounding environment while offering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
Leading the Way in Sustainability
In alignment with our vision for a greener future, the new centre will be a flagship example of sustainability and green technology for the region. Built to Passivhaus standards, it will feature highly energy-efficient systems and a low ecological footprint. This approach will not only reduce the environmental impact of the building but also lower ongoing running costs, making it a cost-effective solution for the long term.
Enhancing the Local Environment
The redevelopment will include soft landscaping and tree planting around the car park area. These efforts will help to integrate the building seamlessly into the local environment, creating cleaner air, enhancing biodiversity, and attracting wildlife to the area. These green spaces will also provide a tranquil and aesthetically pleasing environment for visitors to enjoy.
